Marcia Jane Pederson
Jul 19, 1938 — Jun 17, 2026
Marcia J Pederson, age 87, of Littleton CO. passed away on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026. Marcie was born on July 19, 1938 in Mitchell SD, the daughter of Charlotte (Teitz) and Elroy Klatt. She grew up in Tripp SD and Sioux Falls, SD. As a young girl, living in South Dakota, she longed for a pony and someday to be a “mommy”. Little did she know then what the future would hold for her when she would marry our father. Eventually she would have four children, eight horses, cows, goats, chickens and turkeys. Along with several dogs and cats. She was living her childhood dreams.
While still in high school, Marcie met the man that would be the absolute love of her life, and would give her the world if she asked for it. While Marcie was sunbathing at the local pool with her friends, a young marine in uniform, while playing catch with his friends, just happened to get his football stuck in a tree near where she was. From that day on they were inseparable and for 67 years had a beautiful marriage. She tenderly cared for him throughout their life together and in his later years as he suffered from Alzheimer’s dementia. Her love and devotion to him never faltered. Theirs was a love for the ages.
Marcie and her husband, Jim, lived a life of adventure! Those adventures included family rodeos, horse shows, family camping trips, fishing, just to name a few, the list goes on! Once the kids were grown and the horses were gone, Marice and Jim wintered in AZ in their motorhome and also traveled the country from Alaska to Texas, California to Tennessee, creating new adventures and making lifelong and dear friends at every stop. This also gave our mother plenty of time for her other hobby, knitting afghan’s for her ever growing family. To her absolute joy she would go on to have four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Oh, how she loved her family and how we adored her! She loved the quote “All because two people fell in love!”
Marcie was easy to love and was known for her warm and welcoming smile, gentle kind spirit and beautiful heart. Her faith in God grew deeper through the years. After losing Jim, she longed for the day that they could once again be together and that the Lord would take her home. How she looked forward to this beautiful reunion.
Our mom is now home and in the loving arms of her savior, Jesus, and celebrating being reunited again with our father, Jim.
Marcie is survived by her children, Pixie “Patrice” (Billy) Paul, Todd Pederson, Missie (Steve) Nichols, Kryn (Gregory) Skarda and her brother Mike Klatt. Her grandchildren, Tyler Ensign, Jesse Nichols, Wesley Ensign and Austin Nichols. Her great grandchildren, Travis Ensign, Naomi Ensign, Hannah Ensign, A.J. Nichols, Jonah Ensign, Addy Nichols, Lily Nichols and Della Nichols.
Marcie is preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her parents.
