Carol Catherine Provo
Dec 2, 1936 — Apr 17, 2026
Carol Provo, of Sun City, Arizona, entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2026. She was born on December 2, 1936, in Hamilton, Ohio and spent her life as a Tennis Instructor, Secretary and Bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Bertha Drobkiewicz and her brother, Charles Drobkiewicz.
Carol was known for her love of people and never-met-a-stranger philosophy of life. Some of her other outstanding qualities were that she was very sporty and health conscious and stayed in shape throughout her life. She was energetic, fun, and was making jokes the last
few days of her life. Also, she possessed what you would call street smarts, had good common sense and was very perceptive about people and situations. She was a very kind and selfless person and a lover of animals. Especially dogs which she had several throughout her life. Another interesting quality of Carol’s is that she was a good driver and everyone who rode with her was in good hands. She was a dedicated wife and mother and made sure her family had everything they needed to make their lives run smoothly. Carol was married to Herbert Eugene Provo at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Carol and Herbert, or Gene, as he was known, were married for over 62 years before Gene preceded her in death in 2018.
They are survived by three children: Robert Provo, Paula Provo Martinez (Rick), and Daniel Provo (Kris) and four grandchildren. Robert’s two children, Ryan Provo and Danielle Provo and Daniel and Kris’s two children Danny Provo and Madison Provo. Carol’s first job was making sandwiches in her dad’s cheese shop. Later she worked at the telephone company and at Camelback Inn as a Secretary and Bookkeeper and Tennis Instructor. She also taught tennis lessons at Mountain Shadows Resort. Some of her biggest accomplishments were being named as best athlete at St. Mary’s High School in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. She was also on the cheering squad at St. Mary’s High School. Another impressive accomplishment of Carol’s was winning 1st place in the Senior Division, of women’s doubles at the Palm Desert, California, tennis tournament. (along with her doubles partner, Pat).
As a couple, Gene and Carol designed and built their dream home in Cave Creek, Arizona.
They lived there several years until moving to Sun City, Arizona. That was another long – held dream that they achieved together. Happy memories were made as a family spending summers at Saguaro Lake water skiing, eating underground dinners and just hanging out with family and friends. Also, they spent many vacations, at the first estuary near Rocky Point, camping on the beach.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Bell Recreation Center in Sun City. For further information, contact her family, Robert Provo or Paula Provo Martinez. Burial will be private and take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona where she will be inurned in the Columbarium with Gene. Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Hospice of the Valley and Regency Mortuary provided exemplary hospice and cremation services.
