Jerald Lee Davis
Apr 15, 1938 — Oct 3, 2026
Jerald Lee Davis, of Sun City, AZ and formerly of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 3, 2026. He was 88.
He was the loving husband of 64 years of the late Marilyn Mae Davis until her passing on May 3, 2026. Born in Pierre, SD, he was the only son of the late Dewey and Myrtle Davis.
A traveling salesman for most of his adult life, Mr Davis never seemed to “meet a stranger” and would “strike up a conversation” with whomever would cross his path. Having served in the US Navy for four years and growing up in and around the farming communities of Minnesota, these and other experiences fueled his storytelling abilities.
Upon retirement, he kept busy with various hobbies he enjoyed, whether it be starting a golf club repair business, woodworking projects, building a model car or assembling a large puzzle or simply sweeping the patio multiple times a day. Dad was not one to sit much even if it was for a “cotton-picking” minute. However, one could rest assured that when he was sitting down it was for the purpose of cheering on one of his favorite sports teams from the state of Ohio, that he most certainly considered “home”.
As perhaps one of the world’s best composers of “lists”, one of the last of these many “lists” he requested were the names of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he regularly acknowledged as a blessing to be treasured. That list is as follows: He is survived by five children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Daughters Clary Lewis and her husband Kevin of San Diego, CA, Natalie Kompa and her husband John of Columbus, OH, Amy Johns and her husband Mark of Orlando, FL, Sons Jason Davis and his wife Karen of Sellersville, PA and Kyle Davis and his wife Mandi of Toledo, OH. His grandchildren and great-children as follows: Hannah and her husband Landen Ellyson parents of Aubrey, Charlotte and Maverick; Josh Lewis and his wife Kristin parents of Judah and Sofia; as well as Eva Lewis and Sarah Lewis. Ben Kompa and his wife Kathryn Grace, Olivia Kompa and her husband Jakob Gattinger as well as Paige Kompa. Nathan, Jacob, and Grace Davis. Rachael Lord and Avery Johns and Weston Davis.
Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints”. John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live”.
