Judith M Lenzen
May 8, 1939 — Jun 26, 2026
Judith (Judy) Margaret Lenzen, of Sun City, AZ went to be with her Lord on June 26, 2026. Judy was born on May 8, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN to Diedrich and Edna (Wolff) Lenzen.
Judy graduated from Chaska High School in 1957 and then attended Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in Education in 1961. Judy then taught for several years. One of her most memorable teaching opportunities was in Londrina, Brazil where she spent 7 months in 1965 with the Lutheran American Mission. She taught 4th -7th grade and also taught adults English 3 nights a week. Judy was in Brazil when she received notice of acceptance into Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy program. After graduating from the Mayo PT program in MN Judy moved to Arizona where she passed the State Board of PT Examiners and spent the remainer of her career in PT (as she called it being a “Physical Terrorist”).
The most important thing in Judy’s life was her faith, but she also lived her faith. She taught Bible study classes and was always a student of the Bible. She was a member of Community Bible Study for many years and was a core-leader and mentor.
Judy learned her love for animals and traveling from her parents who took her across country to CA when she was young. Judy spent her early years on a farm and had animals of all kinds. She was known for rescuing many cats and dogs in her life.
After retiring Judy spent many hours traveling and enjoying special interest such as crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, weaving, and any type of hand crafts. She also took up piano but never felt accomplished in piano. While not feeling accomplished in piano she was most certainly accomplished in the areas of hand work. Judy’s travels included much of South America, Germany, Liechtenstein, Peru, Argentina, Israel, Bahamas, Greece, Costa Rica, Turkey, as well as Russia, just to name a few. She also enjoyed going on cruises.
Judy will be missed by her many church friends and other lifelong friends, neighbors, and Royal Oaks Life Care Community family.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at New Hope Fellowship, 19424 N. RH Johnson Blvd, Sun City, West. Judy will be interred July 30th, 2026 in Zoar Church Cemetery in Chaska, MN.
