William Leo Gaffney Jr. "Bill"

William Leo Gaffney Jr., lovingly known as “Bill,” passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 73 in Waddell, Arizona.

Bill was born on March 23, 1951, in Lexington, Kentucky, to William Sr. and Athelene Gaffney. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he began his lifelong passion for trucking and transportation. He later went on to work as a professional auto transporter, a career he truly enjoyed.

Bill was a devoted man of faith who loved serving the Lord through helping others whenever he could. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. Bill especially cherished being a grandfather, proudly known as “GDad” to his grandchildren. He enjoyed off-roading, spending time outdoors, collecting antiques, watching The Andy Griffith Show, and staying active.

Above all, Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marsha Gaffney; his son, Jason Gaffney; his cherished grandchildren, Luke, Jaelyn, and Logan; his sister, Carol; his brother, Ron; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, William Sr. and Athelene Gaffney, and his brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that loved ones honor Bill’s memory through acts of kindness and service to others.
