Brian Burdock

Feb 6, 1957 — Jan 30, 2026

Brian Burdock, 68, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Raised in Belen, Brian was a record-holding, star football player at Belen High School and later at Sierra College in California. He eventually turned his silver tongue and sharp wit into a lifelong career as a car salesman, where his ability to strike a deal and build relationships became his professional trademark. His talent for negotiation started early; he once famously brokered a seventeen-cent deal with his late brother, Brad, to keep a childhood secret—a glimpse of the salesman he would become. A charismatic and mischievous brother, Brian was a legendary teaser who once convinced his family the "experimental greenery” in his kitchen window was just a tomato plant. His sisters fondly remember him wearing himself out throwing them into the pool or chasing them around to pinch them with his toes. Brian loved the roar of classic rock, the mysteries of Ancient Aliens, and cheering on his Dallas Cowboys. He most enjoyed the quiet of the early morning on his porch with a cup of coffee and the newspaper. He is survived by his two sons, Bobby and Brendan Burdock, and his sisters, Erica and Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Brad Burdock and Brent Burdock. The family will honor his memory privately. To celebrate Brian’s life, turn up some classic rock or support a local youth sports program.
