Charlie Wright Stagner

Charlie was preceded in death by parents-Wade Hampton Stagner and Eva Lorena Talley Stagner….5 brothers and 1sister- many cousins, nieces and nephews….He was the youngest of 7 children ~ also, his eldest son, Gregory Brent and daughter Connie Alleyne….He is survived by his wife of 65 years Carol and 2 of their 4 children, Matthew Glen and Omar Bradley.     He leaves behind 10 precious grandchildren and 8 precious- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews…All of whom he loved very deeply.Charlie was born in Albuquerque New Mexico at home, December 16, 1939, by his mother and sister,  Juanita. They were unable to get to the hospital because of a snowstorm...He was checked by a doctor three days later.Charlie graduated from Albuquerque High School 1957, while working nights,  going to high school and help support his mom… he was Baptized by emersion 1957 and joined the U S Navy 1957.    He was Honorably discharged in 1960, during Vietnam era.Charlie  married his grade school sweetheart Carol Lynn Bushee, whom he shared a solid 65 years of marriage. They spent some 30 years in Southern California and later retired to live in the North East heights of Albuquerque.Charlie  worked road construction after the military and helped build  I 40 freeway; he also had a career in finance and banking and later retired from Citibank mortgage’s, as a regional director. He was a successful Saturn car salesman and still later worked at Home Depot and Lowe’s, before completely retiring some 15 years ago.Charlie was a devout congregant of  the Church of Christ, served as deacon many years, as well as teaching Bible classes and serving as treasurer, in 3 different congregations - he also worked with youth groups and was a basketball coach, in Southern California representing the Church Of Christ…also serving as the coach of young men’s leagues, coached little league and was an avid sports man…enjoying hunting, fishing and archery with his 3 sons, brothers and  so many different friends.Charlie’s family,  as well as his beloved Chiweenie doggie CALI, brought immense JOY in his life . Charlie is sure to be missed greatly~by all of them.
