David Warren Green
June 13, 1954-June 2, 2026
David was born in Raton NM and raised on the family ranch high on a hill between Des Moines and Folsom NM. An idyllic and picturesque landscape looking directly at Sierra Grande and Capulin Volcano, but also a lifestyle that demanded responsibilities at an early age. David attended Des Moines Public Schools where in his high school years he was an outstanding athlete excelling in basketball and baseball. His basketball team won the District Championship and qualified for the State Tournament. He attended Texas Tech University and received an Architectural Engineering Degree and began his professional career in Albuquerque, NM.
After a short tenure with Summit Engineering he formed his own company, Architractors and immediately began a career doing projects all over northern New Mexico. Over four decades as both an architect and a General Contractor, David gained a reputation for high quality work and client satisfaction. One of his projects was featured in Su Casa magazine where his clients exclaimed that " Mr. Green was an absolute godsend "! Even more than his dedication to his work he was extraordinarily concerned and committed to his employees. In addition to his professional career David also continued working and raising cattle, for a time owned race horses, and developed a passion for golf and all forms of friendly wagering. He was a huge New Mexico Lobo basketball fan, season ticket holder and attended the Conference Tournament almost every year. One of his most cherished associations was his membership at Four Hills/Canyon Club Country Club. He reveled in his many friendships with fellow members and staff, loved the annual Member/Guest Tournament and again the opportunity for a friendly wager. He made the shot heard around Albuquerque when he recently made an albatross! As a person David was kindhearted, generous, and considerate of all with whom he interacted. His family marveled at his endless recollections and historical knowledge. He dearly loved New Mexico and took great pride in his State. He loved food and drink, was an excellent cook and could prepare a wide array of dishes. When ordering at a restaurant he was known to be very specific about how he wanted his food prepared.
David was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Ramona Green of Roanoke, TX. Survivors are life partner, Sherry Annan, Albuquerque, NM, brothers John Green and wife Donna, Trophy Club, TX, Paul Green and wife Borden, Roanoke,T, nephew Joshua Green and wife Ali, Erie, CO and great nieces Eva and Joelle, Erie, CO.
