Dolores French, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 97.

Dolores was born on April 10, 1929, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Matilde and Josephina Serda. She spent many years working as a banquet waitress at the Albuquerque Convention Center, where her warmth and hard work touched everyone she served.

Music and dancing were Dolores's greatest joys — she lit up any room she entered. Known for her kindness, compassion, and infectious happy-go-lucky spirit, she was cherished and admired by all who knew her.

Dolores was preceded in death by her son, Christopher French. She is survived by her sons, Byron P. French Jr. and Phillip French; grandchildren Byron P. French III, Rita DeHerrera, Phillip French Jr. (PJ), Nikayla French, Elijah French, and Lenyn French; great-grandchildren Adam French, Ayden DeHerrera, Natalie French, and Kaomi French; her brother, Patrick Serda; sisters Ramona Saiz, Louise Lyon, Jenny Berrumin, and Rita Verdi; along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dolores will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into the lives of her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Date and time to be announced.
