Jennifer Susan Risley-Gomez

Jennifer Susan Risley-Gomez was born February 23rd, 1979, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Manzano High School, and then graduated from New Mexico State University, with a bachelor’s degree in food science. Soon after, she moved to Florida where she got a masters in Occupational Therapy and met Sergio Gomez. They were wed in 2009 and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where Jen worked as an OT and rose in the ranks to Director of Therapy. She was loved and respected by her coworkers as was evidenced by the outpouring of support she received when she was diagnosed with cancer, shortly after the birth of her child.

Jennifer loved animals, small and large, and had many achievements in her youth as a 4 H member and equestrian. Her musical talents included the piano, violin, cello and hand bells. She frequently organized parties, events, and fun programs at work, and shared her love with friends and family through these social interactions.

Jennifer passed peacefully at UNMH, on June 23rd, 2026. She is survived by her Husband Sergio, her infant son Sebastian, her mother Kathleen with husband Glen, her Father Scott with wife Paula, her Brother Josh with wife Christi, brother Rob with wife Jenn, sister Shelly, her aunt Bobbi with husband Ben, her aunt Beverly with husband Mahlon, and her aunt Jan, as well as many loving nephews, cousins, a niece and others. 

 A memorial service will be on Saturday 7/11 11am at La Mesa Presbyterian Church here in Albuquerque.
