John Panfilo Duran

March 2, 1945 — May 7, 2026

On May 7th, 2026, John Panfilo Duran reunited with his beloved and departed wife Pauline Dixon Duran. He is celebrated by his four children Edward, John Paul, Audrey, and Michael, and his three grandchildren, Jonathan Ekaterina and Iridessa.

He was born in Gallup, New Mexico where he met and married the love of his life, Pauline Dixon with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.  His legacy is more that being a UNM college graduate and completing 34 years of Federal service with the Department of the Interior but his fierce love for his family.

He created special memories with his family of laugh-filled fishing trips, grueling hiking adventures, memorable family road trips, and fun times watching sci-fi shows.

His family will continue the Duran legacy of stubbornness, loud snoring, mischievous wit and compassion for others.  In lieu of donations or floral arrangements, Duran family encourages donations to St. Felix Food Pantry in Rio Rancho, NM, the Salvation Army, or the Animal Humane New Mexico.
