Liza Y. Brady

It is with deep sorrow and great love that we mourn the passing of Liza Brady. As the saying goes, “Where a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories,” and she leaves behind many — because we will hold onto the moments, not the days.

On January 10, 2026, Liza spent her final moments on Earth on Highway 76 in Doña Ana County, at the age of 59. Born in Hong Kong, China, on July 2, 1966, she grew up with a spirit shaped by resilience, humor, and a quiet strength that carried her throughout her life. Liza attended Precious Blood Secondary School for Girls, where she mastered the infamous “Invisible Chair,” a skill she proudly carried into adulthood. At 18, she journeyed from China to California where she discovered her lifelong love of Pepsi — a simple joy she wasn’t allowed growing up. Her hardworking nature began early, with jobs at local fast‑food restaurants, and one of those local fast‑food jobs changed her life forever, where she met her future husband, Bradford Brady Sr., who was her manager. She devoted many of those early years to him and to the family they built together.

Though life later took them on separate paths, Liza poured her strength, determination, and work ethic into her three children: her sons Bradford (Melinda) Brady Jr. and William Brady, and her daughter Kimberly Rodriguez. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. One of the most memorable parts of Liza’s personality was her joy in sharing her culture. She loved teaching those around her how to say simple but meaningful phrases in Cantonese — little lessons that made people smile and feel connected to her roots. She taught “I love you” — ngo5 oi3 nei5 — 我愛你 (Ngo Oy Lay), “Goodnight” — maan5 on1 — 晚安 (Man On), “How are you?” — nei5 hou2 maa3 — 你好嗎 (Lay Ho Ma), “I am fine” — ngo5 hou2 hou2 — 我好好 (Ngo Ho Ho), and her favorite, “Jesus loves you” — ye4 sou1 oi3 nei5 — 耶穌愛你 (Yeh Sow Oi Ney). These phrases became her way of spreading warmth, faith, and connection.

Liza had a deep love for taking and collecting pictures, crocheting, and remembering the small details that made people feel seen. She worked tirelessly, treated everyone around her like family, forgave quickly, and carried an infectious laugh and gentle spirit wherever she went. She will be remembered for her kindness, her stubborn but loving nature, her unwavering work ethic, and the way she made every person feel valued. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories we share, the traditions she passed down, and the love she gave so freely.
