Aug 22, 1945 — Nov 29, 2025

Maria Erlinda Cowan, 80, passed away on November 29th, 2025, in Albuquerque New Mexico and resided in Estancia New Mexico. She was born on August 22nd, 1945. Erlinda, known affectionately as Linda- left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Linda was a unique soul whose presence was both steady and unforgettable. Known for her serious demeanor, she had a rare and cherished ability to surprise those around her with moments of laughter that could leave you breathless. Her sense of humor though sparing, was a gift that brought joy to many.

She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Camping was one of her favorite pastimes- provided there was a Walmart nearby. Her love for shopping was well known among family and friends, and it became one of the many ways she expressed her vibrant personality.

Linda’s family was a central part of her life. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Renee and son in law Marvin Montano, grandson Andrew and his wife Charly Montano, granddaughters Elizabeth Miller & Emi Miller, granddaughter Andrea Patton and great grandchildren Elianna Montano, Marcelino Montano, Landin Maynes, and Alessia Montano. She also held close bonds with her Godson Marvin Lucero, Goddaughters Darlene Erevia, Tanya Maurer and Angel Lovato. Her Legacy continues through many nieces and nephews who will carry forward her memory

She now joins her beloved husband James (Jim) Cowan, father Fermin, mother Pauline, brothers Fermin Lovato Jr., Toby Lovato, Raymond Lovato, and sisters Dolores Chaves and Betty Lucero.

Linda’s spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
