In Loving Memory of Raymond "Ray" Lopez

August 21, 1984 – June 3, 2026

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Raymond "Ray" Lopez on June 3, 2026, at the age of 41.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ray was deeply rooted in the city he called home. He attended San Felipe de Neri School, continued his education at St. Pius X High School, and later attended Western University. Throughout his life, he formed lasting friendships and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Ray was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh. He could turn an ordinary moment into a story worth telling and had a way of bringing light into even the most difficult situations. His laughter, personality, and presence will be missed beyond words.

Basketball was one of Ray's greatest passions. He loved the game and dedicated his time to coaching, mentoring, and encouraging young athletes. He believed in teamwork, perseverance, and helping others reach their potential both on and off the court.

Above all, Ray loved his family. He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, partner, and friend. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and was always willing to show up when someone needed him. After the loss of his mother, he remained a source of strength, humor, and support to those closest to him. His love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Anyone who knew Ray knew he could make people laugh without even trying. He had a gift for finding humor in everyday moments and turning ordinary stories into unforgettable memories. His warmth, generosity, and larger-than-life personality touched countless lives, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

Ray is survived by his beloved children, his loving girlfriend, Darla Griego, his sister Amber Lopez, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his humor, kindness, and unwavering loyalty.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, resilience, and love. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the memories he gave us and the countless lives he touched.
