Shawn Smith

Shawn C. Smith went to be with our Lord on July 4, 2025. Shawn was born in Truth or Consequences, NM on June 19, 1963 to his parents Charlie and Gladius Smith. Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, baby sister Sally and nephews: Brannon Smith and Todd Riggs. He leaves behind his family: Patty, DJ, Debra and Annette Compton; grandkids: Micheal and Jonathan Griego, Trevon and Parisa Compton, & Issac Shorty; great-grandkids: Micheal Jr, Selena, Derrick and Daisy Griego. His siblings: Charles (Spud) and Terry Smith of Salem, NM. Joe Smith and wife Michelle of Nevada, Paula Riggs and husband Dennis of Hatch NM,, Danny Smith and wife Tracy of NM. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. 

Shawn had a very festive life. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and wild stories. He loved to cook, eat, drink and was always merry. He loved the mountains, whether he was fishing, hunting or just camping. He loved nature and telling stories over a campfire. Most of all, Shawn loved ALL his family and friends.  He had a heart of gold and never passed a chance to help someone.

Shawn was always a hard working man who took pride in his work from driving semi trucks (coast to coast), farm working, construction and heavy machine operator. Shawn is truly loved and will be truly missed but will NEVER be forgotten. Fly high Shawn and keep everyone in heaven laughing..
