In Loving Memory of Chris Simmon
12/14/1950-04/26/2026
Chris Simmon was, one of a kind: a singular soul who lived authentically, boldly, and unapologetically as himself. He moved through life on his own terms, marked by loyalty, generosity, humor, & above all, love.
Chris loved his country and answered the call to serve selflessly in Vietnam, carrying that spirit of duty and patriotism throughout his life. He had a deep passion for aviation, a love that led him to a career with United Airlines, where he worked for more than twenty years. After retirement, Chris embraced life with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything, by traveling the world, chasing new experiences, and savoring every opportunity to fully live.
He found joy in the excitement of live motorsports, the peacefulness of PGA Tour events, and especially in the roar of live music (the louder, the better). He loved tending to his garden and spending time with his plants, finding daily peace and happiness in watching things grow.
Chris was also deeply charitable, giving generously to veterans’ causes and to Shriners Hospitals for Children, reflecting his lifelong desire to help others.
But above all else, Chris loved his family. Nothing meant more to him than time spent with those he loved. Never missing a chance to visit, laugh, tell stories, and create memories with his many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, H.K. & Peggy Simmon, and by his brothers, Mike & Hal Simmon.
He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Stacy Maldanado & Kelly Stringham along with his beloved nieces and nephews.
Chris lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, adventure, and unwavering love for family. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered always.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Chris’s memory make a donation to a veterans charity of their choice
