Christopher (Chris) Eugene Lucero

January 22, 1991- October 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Christopher Lucero, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. Chris Lucero passed away on October 22, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on January 22, 1991, to Rose Stephenson and Del Lucero in Albuquerque, NM. He was raised in Belen and later moved to Albuquerque.

Chris had an undeniable zest for life; he loved music, good food, and many adventurous sports. He possessed a brave spirit and engaged in motorbiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking. He also enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, golf, and football. He stayed active by working out, and he would play video games as well. He also went snorkeling and swimming with dolphins in his travels. He loved the thrill of new experiences and the freedom of the open air.

Chris was a loving person with a kind, humble soul of such which is rarely seen. He had a sharp mind and a kind spirit–the kind of person who could make you laugh, challenge you to think, and inspire you to live a little more boldly. He was always willing to lend a helping hand in any capacity he could, and never complained. His bright smile and infectious laugh will not be forgotten. He reached points of selflessness throughout his life and was caught many times in angelic form when photographed. A 1 of 1 original, for sure.

Chris was incredibly smart and was an honor student, graduating with honors in both high school and college. He was also a district spelling bee champion in elementary. He enjoyed being on the tennis team at Belen High School. Chris had an exceptional work ethic and gave his best in everything he did.

Chris’s pride and joy was his beautiful little girl, Avery Lucero. He loved his family and friends very dearly. As well as pups Ozzy and Paws.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Delfin Lucero Sr., and Nestorita (Rita) Lucero, as well as his maternal grandparents, Fermin Otero Sr., and Lydia (Lilly) Otero. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his loving mom, dad, sister Naomi, daughter Avery Hailey and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Chris loved Jesus and accepted him as his Lord and Savior. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven, at peace now, in the presence of Jesus.
