John Louis Dutil
Feb 9, 1955 — Jun 26, 2026
John Louis Dutil February 09-1955- June 26-2026
John (71) passed away at his residence in Bosque farms with his loving daughter by his side.
He was born in Augusta Maine to Robert and Constance Dutil and was the eldest of three children. His first language was French and went to a Catholic school until about 5th grade. Then went to public school where he learned English. His father owned the Dutil store in Augusta where he helped out a lot. He was a high school graduate of Connie High School in Augusta Maine.
John moved to Albuquerque New Mexico in the late 70's. Soon he got a job driving tow trucks around Albuquerque. On one of those calls to help someone out, he ended up meeting Judy (Fisk,) and soon they hit it off together, and then married shorty after. John helped raise Judy's son James Fisk just as his own and soon they welcomed their daughter Lora Dutil.
They moved down to Bosque Farms from Albuquerque in October of 1990. John had a horrible accident in 1989 where he got hit by a drunk driver and broke his whole back. Soon after he got a job driving long haul trucks for Schneider international ( the big orange trucks) or as John would call it the pumpkin truck. He drove truck for over 30 years. He also was a Volunteer Firefighter with Meadowlake Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years.
John loved being a firefighter, when he was not out on the road driving his time home was spent at the fire department or at home helping everyone in the neighborhood. During that time he also ran a yard service company he had many clients. He loved making people's yards look good. Sadly when he had his accident and fell off the house in 2010 putting up his famous star he had to retire from both trucking and firefighting.
John was like Ironman he never had a surgery while he lived in Maine but here in New Mexico you name it he had it. He was the strongest man alive. Even after his two strokes September 2020 and March 2021, he never gave up hope. He stayed so positive and hopeful. Even up to the very end when he was diagnosed with heart failure. He still wanted the best for his daughter, his sons, his family, and all his friends.
John is survived by his loving daughter Lora Dutil, his two sons Andy and Daniel Dore, his siblings Ron and DorisAnn Dutil, many cousins, other family members and so many friends. He is proceeded in death by his wife Judy Dutil, his father Robert Dutil his mother Constance Dutil and her husband Remi, his son James Fisk, many other family and friends.
