Viktor “John” Gallegos
January 13, 2005 – September 1,2026
Viktor “John” Gallegos, beloved son, brother, partner, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, was born on January 13, 2005, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away on September 1, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and an impact on the lives of so many people who had the privilege of knowing him. John chose the name “John” for himself in honor of one of his favorite musicians, John Lennon—a small reflection of the individuality and spirit that made him uniquely himself. John had a light that drew others to him and a heart filled with love and compassion. He felt everything deeply and cared deeply about the people around him. He was intelligent, creative, fiercely loyal, determined, and kind. He had a mischievous spirit, a stubborn spark, a beautiful smile, and an ability to make an impression on the people he met. He was a loving brother, a devoted partner, a cherished grandson, a beloved nephew and cousin, and a deeply loved son. His presence brought light into the lives of the people around him, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.
John is preceded in death by his grandmother, Glenda Trujillo Loya; his uncle Gregory Granger; and his father, Paul Jason Gallegos.
He is survived by his mother, Krystal Loya, and stepfather, Damian Chavez; his brothers, Jason Gallegos, Daniel Hinojos, and Paulie Gallegos; his sisters, Karissa Moore and Savannah Moreno; his paternal grandparents, Paul Sr. and Lupe Gallegos; his maternal grandfather, Ramon Loya, and his wife, Alma; his uncle Martin and aunt Nicole; Aunt Patsy; Auntie Bunkie and Uncle Doug; Aunt Dora; Uncle Ramon; and Uncle Michael. He is also survived by his beloved partner, Lino; his best friend, Latina; and many cousins, beloved friends, and extended family who loved him dearly. John also leaves behind his beloved fur babies, Hades and Rudo, who were an important part of his life.
John's kindness, intelligence, smile, integrity, unwavering loyalty, determination, mischievous spirit, and stubborn spark will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him. He made a positive impact on so many lives, and the love he gave to others will continue through the people who carry his memory forward. John, we love you more than words can ever express. You meant so much to so many people, and you always will. Rest well, John. You will forever be in our hearts.
