Esequiel Jesus Azua
Nov 30, 1947 — Dec 24, 2024
Esequiel Jesus Azua Jr., 77, of Denver, Colorado left us peacefully on December 24, 2024, surrounded by family. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, “Easy” will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family and friends.
Born November 30, 1947, in El Paso, Texas, Easy grew up as the only son of Esequiel Salazar Azua Sr. and Aurora Ibarra Azua and brother to three sisters: Josefina, Beatriz, and Guadalupe. Easy grew up with a love of music. He played the saxophone in his high school band and in a cover band that consisted of a group of his neighbor friends, which they called themselves “The Preludes.” They performed many of the rock and roll hits of the 50s and 60s as well as playing Tex Mex music.
After high school, Easy joined the Air Force and during his service, served a tour in Vietnam. After his military service, he moved to Denver Colorado where he met Aurora Garcia. They were married on June 15, 1971. Their loving marriage yielded four children, and eight grandchildren.
Easy loved spending time with family and friends. He especially loved watching sports, whether that was catching the Bronco games every Sunday with friends or watching his grandchildren play soccer and basketball.
Easy was preceded in death by his parents Esequiel and Aurora and his sisters Josefina and Beatriz. He is survived by his loving wife Aurora of 53 years marriage; his four children Norma, Nora, Debbie, and Tommy; his eight grandchildren Lorenzo, Emilio, Angelina, Marco, Isabel, Sofia, Santino, and Ramielle. He is also survived by his sister Guadalupe Azua and many other nieces and nephews.
