Jesús Barraza Navarrete, 70, of Commerce City, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, after a short but fierce battle with brain cancer. He is now reunited with his beloved father, Don Trini; his mother, Doña Lola; and his daughter, Jessica—those who went before him and whom he carried in his heart every day.

Jesús was born on June 20, 1956, in the beautiful town of Sauces de Canutillo, Durango, to Don José Trinidad Barraza Gutiérrez and Doña María Dolores Navarrete Galván. He completed the third grade in his hometown and then got to work—something he would continue to do for the rest of his life. After coming to the United States, Jesús built a career in roofing and eventually became a beloved driver at SRS, where he formed friendships and touched the lives of many of the people he worked with.

Family, however, was always at the center of Jesús's world. He cherished his time with his wife Elba, his children, and especially his grandchildren. He was always ready for a good time and hardly ever missed a party. Whether he was quietly enjoying the moment or showing off his own particular brand of silliness, Jesús had a way of making memories that his loved ones will carry forever.

Jesús was famously known as “the quiet one.” He wasn't a man of many words, but he never needed many. He had his own quirky, unmistakable ways of letting people know how much he cared. And then there was his laugh—one of the things his family and friends will remember most. When something really struck him as funny, Jesús could laugh uncontrollably, and before long, everyone around him was laughing too. His laughter was contagious, just like his presence.

Behind that quiet exterior was a deeply sentimental man who loved fiercely. He felt the loss of those who went before him deeply, a reflection of just how much he loved them. He may not have always said what was in his heart, but the people who knew him best never doubted how deeply they were loved.

Jesús was entering what he hoped would be one of the best chapters of his life. Retirement was finally knocking, and he was more than ready to answer the door. He had trips to Sauces de Canutillo planned, family reunions to attend, and countless grandchildren's milestones he was looking forward to witnessing from the front row. He had plans, places to go, people to see, and memories yet to make. Although he didn't get the chance to live out those plans, the excitement he had for this next chapter says so much about the way he embraced life and the people he loved.

Jesús is survived by his wife Elba Hernandez; his children, Naty, Kathy, Chuy, Luis, Aaron, Lupita, and Noel; his soon-to-be 23 grandchildren; and his nine sisters and two brothers. He also leaves behind countless relatives, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

Jesús, we will miss your quiet ways, your silly moments, and above all, that unforgettable laugh. We will carry you with us—in family gatherings, in the stories we tell, in the laughter that reminds us of you, and in every milestone you were so excited to see.

We love you forever, Jesús. You will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

Jesús Barraza Navarrete, de 70 años, de Commerce City, partió de este mundo el 10 de agosto de 2026, después de una corta pero intensa batalla contra el cáncer cerebral. Ahora se encuentra nuevamente con su papá, Don Trini; su mamá, Doña Lola; y su amada hija, Jessica.

Jesús nació el 20 de junio de 1956 en su hermoso pueblo natal de Sauces de Canutillo, Durango, hijo de Don José Trinidad Barraza Gutiérrez y Doña María Dolores Navarrete Galván. Terminó el tercer grado de primaria en Sauces y después hizo lo que Jesús mejor sabía hacer: trabajar. Trabajó arduamente durante toda su vida y, después de llegar a los Estados Unidos, dedicó su vida profesional al trabajo de techado, llegando a ser un querido conductor en SRS.

Pero, aunque Jesús quería mucho su trabajo, su mayor alegría siempre fue su familia. Disfrutaba muchísimo pasar tiempo con su esposa Elba, sus hijos y sus nietos. Siempre estaba dispuesto a pasarla bien y rara vez se perdía una fiesta. Tenía un lado muy juguetón y una manera muy particular de hacer reír a los demás, dejando a su familia y amigos con incontables historias y recuerdos que los harán sonreír durante muchos años.

Jesús era conocido cariñosamente como “el callado.” No era un hombre de muchas palabras, pero tenía una manera muy especial de hacerse entender sin necesidad de decir demasiado. Y luego estaba su risa—una de las cosas más inolvidables de él. Cuando algo realmente le causaba gracia, Jesús podía reírse sin parar, y su risa era tan contagiosa que todos los que estaban a su alrededor terminaban riéndose con él.

Detrás de esa personalidad tranquila había un hombre increíblemente sentimental que amaba profundamente. Jesús amaba con todo el corazón y también sentía profundamente la pérdida de aquellos que se fueron antes que él. Tenía sus propias maneras, muy particulares y hasta un poco traviesas, de demostrar sus sentimientos, y quienes mejor lo conocían nunca tuvieron duda de cuánto quería a los suyos.

Jesús apenas comenzaba a ilusionarse con una nueva etapa de su vida. Las aventuras de jubilación estaban tocando a su puerta y él estaba más que listo para abrirla. Tenía viajes a Sauces planeados, reuniones familiares a las que estaba ansioso por asistir y una larga lista de momentos importantes de sus nietos que quería presenciar desde primera fila. Tenía tantos planes, tantos lugares por conocer y tantas memorias que todavía quería crear junto a las personas que más amaba.

Aunque no tuvo la oportunidad de vivir esos planes, la ilusión que sentía por su jubilación y por estar rodeado de su familia refleja perfectamente quién era Jesús: un hombre que esperaba con emoción lo que venía, que amaba profundamente a los suyos y que era más feliz cuando estaba junto a ellos.

Jesús deja en vida a su esposa Elba Hernández; sus hijos, Naty, Kathy, Chuy, Luis, Aaron, Lupita y Noel; sus próximos-a ser- 23 nietos; y sus nueve hermanas y dos hermanos. También deja atrás a numerosos familiares, amigos, compañeros de trabajo y seres queridos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerlo y compartir parte de su vida con él.

Recordaremos a Jesús por su manera tranquila de ser, su peculiar sentido del humor, su espíritu trabajador, su enorme corazón y, sobre todo, por esa risa tan única que podía llenar un lugar entero.

Te amamos por siempre, Jesús. Te llevaremos con nosotros a través de nuestros recuerdos, nuestras historias, nuestras risas y cada reunión familiar por el resto de nuestras vidas.
