Salvador Joseph Gonzales

Jun 7, 1958 — Apr 3, 2024

Salvador Joseph Gonzales passed away peacefully at his residence in Aurora, CO, on April 3, 2024. Born on June 7, 1958, in Chicago, IL, to his parents, Salvador and Angelina Gonzales.  Salvador's life was marked by dedication, service, and warmth, touching the lives of many throughout his 65 years.

Salvador embarked on a life of service early, joining the United States Navy in 1977. During his tenure until 1982, he served as a Seaman, a role that took him on numerous voyages, both literal and figurative, shaping the man he would become. His dedication and commitment to his duties were recognized through his decoration with the Navy "E" Ribbon, an honor reflecting his excellence in naval warfare service.

After his honorable discharge, Salvador transitioned to the civilian workforce, applying the discipline and skills he acquired in the Navy to his subsequent career. He became a much-respected driver for the Regional Transportation District (RTD) with Access a Ride, ensuring safe and accessible transportation for the differently-abled. His dedication to helping others navigate their way through life, much like he navigated the seas with the Navy, made a lasting impact on the community.

A high school graduate, Salvador valued the power of education and lifelong learning. Though he was not one for grand achievements, his life was a mosaic of smaller, invaluable victories – a kind word here, a gesture of help there, all painting a picture of a man deeply committed to the well-being of those around him.

Behind his service to the country and community, Salvador was a devoted family man. He is preceded in death by his Father, Salvador; Mother, Angelique, Brother John.  He leaves behind a grieving yet grateful family, who will cherish his loving memory; his loving wife Katherine Morgan; 2 Daughters.  Marlena Rodriguez, Fiance Marcus Smith & Kayla Kruel; 3 Step daughters, Rori Couch, Candice Railsbach, husband David, Sabrena Morgan, husband Adam Def;  15 Grandchildren Emeri, Mariah, Lalena (Marlena): Brandon Jr. (Kayla): Lucas, Lehona (Charlie), Asher; (Rori): Maddox, Mackeena, Zoey, Brielle, Bellamy (Candice); Amillia, Amara, Lena (Sabrena); 2 Brother's, Lewis Gonzales wife Trish, Steve Gonzales. 2 Sisters Jackie Humphery husband  Daniel,  Jeanette Martinez husband Kenneth;  9 nephews: and 10 nieces.
