Shirley Kay Ward

Shirley Kay Ward passed away at her assisted-living home in Littleton Colorado on October 7, 2024. She was 89 years old.

Shirley was born on November 19, 1934 in Bend, Oregon in Deschutes county to Charles Henry Chapman and Margaret Konrath Chapman. Shirley was the youngest of two children.

Shirley was married to Herbert Ira Ward Jr. in Crawford Nebraska on December 29, 1962. Shirley and Herb made their home in Eugene, Oregon, where Shirley worked as a nurse until her retirement.  Shirley moved to Colorado in 2020 to be closer to her son. 

Shirley enjoyed knitting and traveling. 

Shirley was proceded in death by her parents, Charles Henry Chapman and Margaret Bauersachs, Her stepfather Frank Bauersachs, her husband Herbert Ira Ward, and her brother, Charles E Chapman. 

Shirley is survived by her son,  Frank Ward (Shondale) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Three stepchildren: Linda Ransom of Casper, Wyoming; Debbie McMullin of Casper, Wyoming; Bill Ward of Casper, Wyoming, and one grandchild, Marcus Ward of Eugene, Oregon. 

Services will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker Colorado on October 12 with a Visitation at 11:30am and the Rosary at 12:30 and funeral at 1 PM. Shirley will be laid to rest in Eugene, Oregon next to beloved husband Herb.
