Beatrice J. Madrid
May 17, 1956 — March 23, 2026
We gather to celebrate the vibrant life of Beatrice "Bone" J. Madrid, a cherished mother, aunt, and friend, who left us on March 23, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on May 17, 1956, Beatrice was the 11th child of Luis Paz and Fedelina Lucero. Her spirit was as bold as her name suggested, and her laughter was infectious.
Beatrice was a proud mother to five children: Geraldine (David), Stephanie (Tim), Joe (Chrie), Andrew (Charlene), and Matthew (Bernina). She spent her life nurturing and supporting them, leaving behind a legacy of love that continues to grow through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. She outlived two husbands, Joe Madrid and most recently John Rice, but her love for family never diminished.
Aunty Beatrice was adored by many, especially Shannon Ortega, along with a multitude of other nieces, nephews, and her beloved feline companion, Gato. Gato especially provided her comfort and companionship in her later years.
Beatrice's home was always bustling with life. A devoted homemaker, she created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for family and friends alike. Her hobbies included playing pool and board games, where her competitive spirit shined through. An artist at heart, Beatrice enjoyed drawing and painting, often infusing her works with the same vibrant energy she brought to her daily life. Her love for Colorado sports teams was well known, and she could often be found cheering them on during games, engaging friends and family in spirited debates.
Friends and neighbors will fondly remember her for her honest, bold, and unfiltered words, always keeping everyone on their toes with her candid observations. Though she has left us, Beatrice's spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman who lived authentically and wholeheartedly. She will be sorely missed, but her memory will live on through the many stories shared and the love she leaves behind.
