" Gone But Never Forgotten"

 June 28, 1942 - January 9, 2025

 We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, Eugene P Vigil (Gene), who left us on January 9, 2025, at the age of 82.  Gene was preceded in death by his parents Eugene P Vigil, and Tillie Sandoval. 

     Gene was born in Jansen, Colorado June 28, 1942.  His childhood spent in this small town ignited a lifelong passion for trains, a joy he loved to share with anyone willing to listen. He embraced life with a spirit of joy and laughter, creating countless cherished memories with family and friends.  He was a remarkable man who fostered lasting friendships throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

    Survived by his lifelong friend Eva Paniagua, sister Marie Lopez, and his three children: Adele Vigil, Eugene W Vigil, and Karen Prieto, four grandchildren, and two granddaughters in laws, Julian Martinez, Julie Martinez, Chaise Williams, Jamie Prieto Sr, and Destiny Prieto, Jayven Prieto, and cherished great-grandson Jamie Lee Prieto Jr, and Numerous other family members who cared for him deeply. 

Gene will forever be loved and missed!
