Frances "Nana" I. Pompa
Oct 11, 1940 — May 6, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Frances "Nana" I. Pompa. She went to be
with our Lord on May 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in La Veta, Colorado
on October 11, 1940. She is preceded in death by her husband Arturo Pompa, her parents
Casemiro "Cass" and Annie (Vallejos) Griego, Sister-In-Law Theodora "Teddy" Griego, Nathaniel
"Poppie" Griego and Virginia Cummins (Cousin).
She is survived by her son Walter (Leigh) Valdez; siblings Willie (Linda) Griego, Cass (Joann)
Griego, and Sandra Romero, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special acknowledgments and gratitude's to Michelle Lechman and Alan Pena for your generosity
of opening your home and providing years of care to "Nana", to Sandra Romero, Michael and
Rebecca Lechman for the care you provided. Frances was like a Mother figure to Sandra and
Grandmother to Michelle Lechman, Michael Lechman and Adrian Lechuga, and a Great-
Grandmother to Ayven who she adored.
Frances worked in retail clothing and retired early. Frances loved cooking and watching her
favorite TV series Law & Order. She was very generous and caring, and she would always be there
to support her loved ones. When it came to a special family event, you can always count of
"Nana" to make her world-famous potato salad. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Events
