Jose Ricardo Herman Trujillo
Jul 7, 1941 — Aug 1, 2024
Jose Ricardo Herman Trujillo, fondly known as Poppy, Joe, Daddo, Dad, or Richard, had a full life. He was born on July 7th, 1941 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to parents Joe Anastacio Trujillo and Magdalena (Molly) Leroux. Both of whom are deceased.
Joe proudly served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1964 as a budget specialist. His service took him overseas to Europe; where he later met our mother, Amalia in Athens, Greece, where they were married, then later brought her to the United States.
Following his military service, Joe continued to serve his community where he worked in the business and finance world for over 40 years. As a retired Veteran, he continued to be an American Patriot supporting one of his passions in life-politics. He truly had a passion for politics and history. In his retirement he also enjoyed golfing, traveling, music and the arts, and supporting and advocating for the Hispanic community.
Joe is survived by our beautiful mother, Amalia who continues to live in Colorado. They are blessed with their daughters Eleni (Helen), Maria and Stephanie. Stephanie and her amazing husband, Jason are blessed with their three children, Alex, Eleni and Anna. Joe's surviving siblings, LaVerne, Tony and Delores continue life in Colorado, with memories of their deceased siblings, Paul and Michael. Joe's dedication and patriotism to this country, his love for music, adventure and a colorful life will be remembered by all. A toast to a peaceful rest with the lord. We will always cherish only the fond memories we have of you. Rest in Peace. A funeral service to honor Joe’s life and service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Romero Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon Street, Denver CO 80211. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside at Ft. Logan Cemetery
