Joseph Leon Chavez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Leon Chavez, who left this world on March 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on April 27, 1941, Joseph was a cherished son, brother, father, and grandfather, who enriched the lives of all who knew him. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eloy and Marie Chavez, as well as his brothers, Tommy and Larry Chavez. He is survived by his brother, Donald Chavez; his former spouse, Phyllis; and his four daughters: Debbie, Darla, Deanna, and Angelica. Joseph was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. A memorial service to honor Joseph's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Romero Funeral Home, located at 4750 Tejon St., Denver, Colorado. Following the service, friends and family are invited to join a reception at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 8651 Huron St., Thornton, Colorado.

Joseph was known for his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit. He truly enjoyed hanging out with friends either watching or playing some of his favorite sports. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. In this time of grief, we extend our condolences to all who were touched by Joseph's life. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the lives he shaped.
