Joseph James Abelino Montoya
Dec 5, 1964 — Mar 8, 2023
Joseph James Abelino Montoya, (57), of Denver,
Colorado passed away on March 8, 2023.
Our Father Joseph J. A. Montoya was the son of
Catherine Therese Berwick-Engebretson and Joe
Arsino Montoya. He was born on December 5, 1964,
in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a talented
Painter who used to run his own Painting Business.
He was a man of many trades. He loved teaching his
kids everything, from being a handy man to working
on cars. Our dad started grooming on the side so he
was able to take care of his own pets. Most
importantly our dad's true passion was taking care of
his kids and grandchildren!
Our Father Joseph J. A. Montoya is survived by his
children, Stefanie, Dontaye, Donavon, and Demetria.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Saffira,
Steven Jr., Freya, Cyrus, Carter, Adelina, Angel, and
Naylanie. Joseph was predeceased by his Father
Joe Arsino Montoya.
Aside from his love for his children and grandchildren
our father loved to go fishing and camping. If asked
he would never turn a fishing trip down. He was a
huge fan for the Denver Broncos and would not ever
miss a game. Our father had a heart of gold and anyone who knew him would say the
same. He was the man that would give his shirt off his back for you. The kind of man
who would drive out in a blizzard to assist you if you were in need! Anyone who knew
our father knew what kind of a man he really was.
Our Family will host a funeral service on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at
Romero's Funeral Home in Lakewood Colorado. We understand that the norm for these
types of events is to wear black. However, in honor of our father, we would like to make
this service a Denver Broncos themed event. Out of respect for our father, we ask that
only Broncos jerseys are present, please do not wear another teams jersey if you do not
own a jersey Orange and Blue or something uplifting is also acceptable. Previous Events
