Julian D. Lucero, a proud West Sider and devoted father, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2025. Julian was a man who loved fiercely, especially his daughters—Juliana, Jennifer, Jacklyn, and Jordan (who shared his big heart). He is now resting with his beloved mother, Ellen Rodriguez, and his brothers Barney and Johnny, and his sister Eleanor in heaven.

He was known for his unwavering pride in his roots and his mottos: "West Side till I die" and "Brown and Proud." An amazing father, Julian's love and guidance shaped the lives of those around him. He was a man of humor, style, and charm—always maintaining his 'Suavecito' self and sharing countless laughs with family and friends. Remember his breathtaking smile and heartfelt laugh that could light up any room. He loved playfully attacking us girls with the 'BOLO,' making us laugh and beg him to stop—those moments are forever cherished.

Julian’s love extended beyond his family; he cherished his partners from the projects and held a special place in his heart for his brothers and sisters. His loyalty and love for his community and loved ones were evident in everything he did.

In our last act of protecting him, I hope you remember him not just for his style, but for the joy, laughter, and love he spread. We never thought we would have to walk this earth without our dad, the loss is deep, and we know this pain is here because our love for him was so deep. The quote from WandaVision resonates: "What is Grief if not love persevering." He had a love for Marvel and watching those movies with Jacklyn and Jordan, sharing his passion, and creating memories with them.

My sister Julie beautifully said, "We know what my dad was, and we know what my dad was not. But my dad was special and special to us girls."

While no service is open to the public, his memory lives in the hearts of those who knew him. May we honor his legacy by remembering the good times, the laughs, and the lessons he shared. When you hear an oldie or good song, think of Julian, and remember the love he had for all of us – especially his girls.

He is survived in death by numerous brothers and sisters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his beloved daughters and sons-in-law’s—family who loved him dearly and carry his memory in their hearts.

Rest in peace, Dad, we will miss you forever.
