Louie Martinez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louie Martinez, who passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 73 years old.

Louie was born on September 3, 1952, in Oakland, California. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and easy smile. He never hesitated to speak his mind and always let his thoughts be known. Whether you agreed with him or not, you always knew his words came from an honest place. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and whether he had known someone for years or had just met them, he treated everyone with kindness and respect. His generosity knew no bounds—if he had just one dollar in his pocket and someone else needed it more, he wouldn’t hesitate to give it away, even to a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther, whose unwavering care and devotion meant the world to him, especially during his final years. Her love and compassion gave him comfort, dignity, and peace through some of life’s most difficult moments.

He is also survived by his son, Louis “Bubba,” daughter-in-law Nina, and his beloved grandchildren Zoë, Sasha, Leilani, Ava, and Gavin. Being a husband, father, and grandfather brought him tremendous joy. He cherished every moment they shared.

He is also survived by his siblings Debra, Alma, and Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen, and his brothers David, Fred, and Rocky.

Louie had a lifelong love of going to the movies, something he and his wife, Esther, looked forward to almost every week. They rarely missed a chance to catch whatever was playing at the theater, and those movie dates became one of the simple joys they shared throughout their marriage. His love of going to the movies became one of the gifts he passed on to his son, who in turn passed that tradition and love of movies down to his own children.

He also enjoyed making trips to the casinos in Black Hawk, where it was never really about winning. Some of his favorite memories were made there with his mother before her passing, his sister Deb, and just about anyone who didn’t mind throwing away a few bucks if it meant spending time together. Those trips were filled with laughter, stories, and the simple joy of each other’s company.

Louie will be remembered as a selfless, charismatic, loving, and funny human being who always put others before himself. His absence leaves an incredible void, but the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

The family finds comfort knowing he is finally free from the pain and discomfort he endured in recent years. While his time with us feels far too short, they are grateful for every moment they shared with him and for the love he gave so freely.

Louie Martinez will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Service information is announced below. Viewing and Mass will take place on Thursday July 23, 2026 starting at 10:00AM Viewing, followed by Mass at 11AM. Taking place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located at 11385 Grant Street Northglenn CO, 80223. There will be a reception to follow at the same location.
