In Loving Memory
Lydia Marie Vigil 91, of Denver, passed away on Saturday September 26, 2026. Born on November 7, 1934, in Costilla, New Mexico to Eloy and Beatrice Ortiz. Lydia married Elmer E. Vigil on April 22, 1957. Together, they made their home in Denver, where they raised their family.
A devout Catholic, Lydia lived her faith through her love for others and her devotion to Christ. Her home was a welcoming place for family and friends, and she touched countless lives with her kindness. She retired from Monfort Food Distributors after approximately 30 years of service.
Lydia is survived by her three beloved children: Judith (James), Estevan (Teresa) and Patricia (Jeff). Her memory will also be cherished by her ten grandchildren: Megan (Chris), Estevan (Kae), Celina (Bo), Jacob, Bianca (Eric), Devyn, Elan (Mariah), James and Nicole (Tim). She also leaves behind nineteen treasured great-grandchildren: Annalysia, Sarina, Abreanna, Julian, Olivia, Estevan Jr., Camille, Xander, Avery, Jovanni, Clarabell, Austin, Asia, Zayden, Banks, Remington, Samuel, Sincere and Casiano.
Lydia is Preceded in Death by her beloved husband Elmer: her parents, Eloy and Beatrice; her siblings Celso and Darlene; and her grandson Cedrick.
Services will be on: Thursday October 8, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3801 W. Ohio, Denver, CO 80219. Viewing at: 10:00 a.m. Rosary at: 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment immediately following at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80236
Reception to follow at: the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2950 W. Mississippi Ave, Denver, CO 80219.
