Margarita Yolanda Acosta
Oct 22, 1963 — Mar 17, 2019
Margarita Y. Lopez, 55, passed peacefully at her home in Denver on Sunday March 17th, 2019 surrounded by her 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 3 son-in-laws and daughter-in-law. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Claudio Lopez and Geneva Torres on October 22nd 1963. She was the youngest of 1 brother and 3 sisters Geneva, Rosemary, Mary and preceded in death by sister Elizabeth and brother Arthur. Born and raised Catholic, she had a devotion to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Loving Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-law, Margarita is survived by daughters, Erika, Crystal, Martha and son Martin all of Albuquerque. Grandchildren, Alexandra of New Mexico, Ashley, Alyson, Daniel, Jose, Leila, Aracely, Daisy, Natasha and Esmeralda all of Colorado. In-Laws (spouses of her children) Johnny (spouse of Erika), Daniel (spouse of Crystal), Marco (spouse of Martha) and Mercedes (spouse of Martin) all of Colorado or Mexico. My mom was the rock of our family and will be deeply missed, she was always there for us in joys and troubles. Such a kind and humble person that forgave all and offered a helping hand. She was a happy talkative person that joked around and was the light of the room and/or life of the party. Grandma loved her music (especially cumbias) and dancing was definitely her passion. She knew everybody's birthday and one of her pass times was talking on the phone so we are going to miss those early morning calls on our Birthdays when she would call to sing us the maanitas telling us how much she loves us. Reaching out to people, especially for holidays was her thing. But perhaps the most important thing to her and about her above all, was her unconditional love for her kids and grandkids, she gave her all for us. My momma suffered much throughout her years with chronic illness' but always tried to keep us strong by joking around saying things like "mala yerba nunca muere, jajaja". We would like to thank everyone that came out to the hospital to see our mom a week before she passed, she was so happy to see all the people who loved her so much... thanks :) And even though she was unable to talk her last couple of days she was so strong and still responded to us by smiling, raising her eyebrows, shrugging her shoulders, squeezing our hand, raising her hands, making us "ojitos" and even sticking out her tongue to mess around with us like she did often. She is our all and we love her with all our hearts, we miss her so so much but we understand that God has a plan for us all and it was Mom's time. Esperansados en la promesa de Cristo, volveremos a reunirnos en el Reino de Nuestro Seor para toda la eternidad un da mam... rezaremos por ti y tú tambin ora por nosotros al llegar al cielo. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday March 21st, 2019 from 5-8pm at Romero's Funeral Home in Lakewood for a viewing and recitation of the Rosary. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Cajetan's Catholic Church on Friday March 22nd, 2019 with viewing from 10am until the start of Mass at 11am.
