Norma Jean Cress

Norma Jean Cress, 78, of Denver, CO passed away on December 28, 2022 after a prolonged battle with dementia. Norma was born in Trinidad, Colorado and eventually made Denver and Granby her life-long home. She is preceded in her death by Jessica Abeyta (daughter), Albert Cress (father), Connie Cress-Ortiz (mother), and Patches (granddog). She is survived by her children Ashes, Chris, Danielle, and Les; grandchildren Andrea, Benjamin, Dara, David, Mike, and Xiomara; and great grandchildren Daelynn, Julian, and Maverick. Norma was the most amazing and wonderful mom and matriarch - her family was the most important thing to her. She lived a full and wonderful life where she loved to spend time with her family and friends, make new friends, listen to music, dance, travel, laugh, cook, and garden. In her long career at Denver Health, she helped generations of families. Norma will also be remembered for being a healer, a dog whisperer, a great listener, funny, sassy, and smart. We will miss everything about her including spending time with her just doing nothing, sharing her wisdom about life and people, talking to her on the phone, going on roadtrips, listening to her tall tales, and going to all the events that Denver had to offer. Please join us in celebrating Norma's life on January 27, 2023 from 10-12 pm at Romero Family Funeral Home Denver (4750 Tejon St, Denver, CO 80211). Immediately following the services, we will be hosting a reception from 12-2 pm at The Monkey Barrel (4401 Tejon St Denver, CO 80211). The service will be an "open mic" and we will ask everyone to come and share your favorite story or memory of Norma.
