Oclydes Angelita Albert, 81 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2020, with Gilbert and Cindy by her side.
Oclydes was born on July 14, 1938 in La Lama, New Mexico to the late Guadalupe and Maria Quintana. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert "Pisa" Albert of Westminster, CO; daughter, Cindy Link of Thornton, CO; daughter, Donna Iskandrani of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Adam Link of Thornton, CO. She was born third out of eight total siblings; Eluvino Quintana, deceased; Bertha Trujillo, Cameron Park, CA; Martha Ortiz, deceased; Alberto Quintana, Monte Vista, CO (Bennie); Ramona Archuleta, Albuquerque, NM (Faustin); Eugene Quintana, deceased; Leroy Quintana, Alamosa, CO (Sally).
Oclydes was lucky enough to stay home for many years. When she decided to go back to work she began working as a kitchen assistant at the Centennial High School cafeteria in San Luis, CO, she also worked for the Costilla County Home Healthcare Department as a home healthcare giver for over 15 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing bingo, going to see movies, to Walmart and church. Her hobbies included collecting rocks, sticks, ducks, chili's and zebra's.
Oclydes especially enjoyed reading her bible and praying the rosary. She prayed with others and for others, she loved spending time with family, and always wore a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first! "To know Her was to lover Her"
The family would like to invite you to pray the rosary with them on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 am, Romero Funeral Chapel, 4750 Tejon Street, Denver, CO - with a reception to follow at Romero Hall.
