Gomez, Theresa Guadalupe, March 30, 1935 - May 18, 2015
Theresa Guadalupe Gomez, a strong, compassionate woman and devoted mother, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 surrounded by her family. She leaves behind many family and friends who will miss her words of comfort, her acts of kindness, and her energetic spirit.
Theresa was born in Denver, Colorado on March 30, 1935, the second youngest child of Cecilio and Maria Lucia (Serna) Rodarte. She married David Gomez in 1954 and devoted herself to her family and her four children. As a grandparent, she thoroughly embraced her role in helping raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always proud of her large, extended family, she enjoyed researching articles, stories, and pictures of her relatives' accomplishments from the distant past to the present. She was a loyal friend who offered steadfast support in times of need and enjoyed much laughter and many light-hearted moments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecilio and Lucy Rodarte; her brothers, Louis, Paul, Abel, Joe and Cecil; her sisters, Louise and Eleanor; and her spouse, David.
Her strength and spirit are carried on in this world by her four surviving children, Antoinette (Toni) Van Buhler, David Gomez, Abel Gomez, Patrick Gomez; her four grandchildren Desiree McCool, Michelle Gomez, Olivia Gomez, Isabelle Gomez; and her three great-grandsons Vicente Medina, Josiah Medina, and Chase McCool. Theresa is also survived by her beloved sister, Mary Rodarte, and her younger brother, Robert Rodarte.
A Mass will be held on Friday, June 5, at 10:30 am at All Saints Catholic Church followed by funeral services 12:15 pm at Fort Logan Cemetery.
