Joseph Edward Tegrotenhuis

Joseph ("Joe") Edward TeGrotenhuis, 69, of Lakewood, CO, passed away on March 17, 2025. Remaining to cherish Joseph’s memory are his wife Myrna (Batoctoy) TeGrotenhuis; son Tobias TeGrotenhuis; sisters Ann Bicknell and Laura Guerrero; brother John TeGrotenhuis; niece Sara Bicknell; and nephews Bob Bicknell, Adriano Guerrero, and Emilio Guerrero. Preceding Joseph in death are his parents, Paul and Della TeGrotenhuis.

Joseph was born October 5th, 1955 in Oakland, California. Joseph graduated from Pueblo East High School in Pueblo, CO in 1974, and married his wife Myrna on April 2, 1987 in Cebu, Philippines. 

Joseph initially worked for Colorado Fuel & Iron in Pueblo, CO; he then worked as a checker for several King Soopers locations throughout Denver, CO, retiring in 2017 after 40 years of service. Joseph enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles throughout his life, as well as writing, taking family road trips, playing chess, and learning about physics and astronomy. He cherished family and fatherhood, and his kindness, insight, and love will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 27th at 1:00 pm at Romero Funeral Home, 1805 S Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80232. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in his memory.
