Melody Rose Tijerina

Nov 27, 1961 — Sep 27, 2026

Melody Rose Tijerina, born on November 27, 1961, passed away on September 27, 2026. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life was centered on caring for others and loving her family dearly.

Melody worked in Medical Records at St. Lukes Health Care, and she also devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a mother to her children. She was a giver by nature, a people pleaser who found meaning in taking care of others. Whether in her work, in her home, or in the quiet ways she supported those around her, Melody was often the one behind the scenes, making sure others were cared for and comforted.

She enjoyed shopping and was known for being very thrifty, bringing both practicality and personality to everyday life. Melody loved to cook for family and friends, especially on the holidays, though she did not need a special occasion to gather people around her table. Sharing meals was one of the ways she showed love, and those moments will remain treasured by the people who knew her. She was also a joker, bringing laughter and lightness to those around her. Stubborn at times, but always loving, Melody carried a strong spirit and a generous heart.

Among the accomplishments she held most dearly was raising her children and grandkids. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she poured into them will continue to be felt for generations.

Melody is survived by her husband, Rosendo Tijerina; her mother, Necie Orcutt; her son, Thomas Shields; her daughters, Nicole Shields and Genevieve Waller; and her brother, Frank Contreras. Each of them carries forward the memory of her love, her humor, her strength, and the many ways she gave of herself so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Orcutt.

Melody Rose Tijerina will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her generous spirit, her devotion to family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will live on in the meals she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the love she gave so completely.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
