Sharon Ruth (Shangle) Robinson
Aug 4, 1940 — Jul 26, 2026
Sharon Shangle Robinson, 85, of Mountain Home, Idaho, passed away on July 26, 2026, in Mountain Home.
Sharon was born August 4, 1940, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to Ray and Ruth Shangle. She grew up with her brother Melvin in Mountain Home and attended Boise Junior College briefly before returning home, where she would later build a life centered on family, faith, and community.
On December 7, 1958, Sharon married Robbie Robinson at First Baptist Church in Mountain Home. The couple shared 67 years of marriage. Sharon was a devoted wife and mother whose first loves included her horses and the outdoors; later in life her greatest joy was her family.
Sharon worked in a variety of roles over the years, including at the local movie theater, Gino’s Pizza, as a school bus driver, potato sampler, and in real estate. More than any job title, she was a homemaker and a steady presence for her children and grandchildren. She was active in her church and a strong woman of faith who taught her family to put God first.
An avid horsewoman from youth—she competed as a Snake River Stampede Queen contestant and loved barrel racing—Sharon also shared many skills and passions with others: she was a longtime 4‑H leader, a quilter, making a quilt for each family member, a crocheter, a member of AGLOW, and for many years she lovingly made custom birthday cakes for family. She loved camping and the mountains, spending time at the family cabin, and teaching younger generations to sew, quilt, and appreciate the outdoors.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robbie Robinson; her children Susan, Kristin (Billy), and Randall (Sheri); her grandchildren Sarah (Tony), Emily (Ronnie), Becky (Luke), Tell (Brooke), Call (Kelsey), Tye (Samantha), and bonus granddaughters Kya and Maddison. 14 great‑grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruth Shangle, and her brother Melvin.
A memorial service will be held at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home on August 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at the American Legion Hall, Post 26. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate Sharon’s life, share memories, and honor her legacy of faith, family, and community service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice in Sharon’s memory.
