Richard Charles "Dick" McKenna

Richard Charles “Dick” McKenna, 81, passed away peacefully in hospice care on August 13, 2026. 

Dick graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico. A proud resident of Ahwatukee for 52 years, he combined his expertise to become a successful business owner and a skilled medical office software developer. He was also deeply invested in his community, serving multiple terms on the Ahwatukee Board of Management.

Dick was an avid skier who loved hitting the slopes and a dedicated runner who proudly crossed the finish line of the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon. Dick shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret “Peggy” McKenna. His legacy lives on through his four children, Scott McKenna, Katherine “Katie” McKenna, Melody Marx, Steven Glab and his four grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey McKenna, and his sister, Patricia Satterfield; six sisters in law, eight brothers in law; and a large family of 12 nephews and 9 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Margaret “Marge” McKenna. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he helped shape for over five decades. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
