Ruben V Aranda

Born on January 23, 1953, passed peacefully in his home June 24, 2026, as he wished. Ruben lived and believed in "Live simply so others can simply live". Ruben loved oldies, R&B music, classic cars including his white Impala and 53' silver chevy coup. Ruben enjoyed dancing in his younger days at the Riverside Ballroom, the Crystal Palace and La Casita. He loved cooking Mexican food and learned his mother in-law's green chili recipe to the T. Ruben enjoyed comedy and was quick witted with a joke. He liked many comedians: Dave Chappelle and Eddie Murphy were two of his favorites. He enjoyed foreign films, Babbetles Feast, The Girl on the Bridge, The Lover, La Dolce Vita, Man of La Mancha and many more. Ruben was a nature lover. He liked hiking spotting eagles and hummingbirds. While serving 13 years in the National Guard. He would recall his luck in seeing fireflies or salamanders. Even when he worked for the City of Phoenix, he would spot crane, racoons, wolves and javalina. He was so excited about god's creatures. Ruben could imitate how a crane took flight, a lizard scattered away or a deer stood majestically.

Ruben leaves behind his wife Maria and son Damian. Nieces, nephews and beloved in-law family. All family and friends will be celebrating Rubens homecoming even if he "only believed in silence"-Nacho Libre 

Ruben requested a thank you hug in spirit to all his support angels- Celia, Linda, his soul sister #45, Adrianna, Dr Joseph Sun and Nilda. TO the MDs and staff at MD Anderson: Dr Rajesh Ramanathan, Dr Z Yeung, Dr Sangave, Dr Rollv Dr ATN and nurses.

Services will be held at Central Presbyterian Church 37 East Indian School Rd at 10:00 am on Thursday July 23, 2026
