Betty Jane Dawson
Jan 14, 1939 — Jul 15, 2026
Betty Jane Dawson, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends after complications from an illness.
Betty was born in 1939 in Robinson, Illinois. She was a compassionate and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and mentor. Known for her selfless and generous spirit, she continued to give until Jesus called her home. Her kindness, unwavering faith, and love for others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty loved the Lord with all her heart and had a deep passion for sharing God's word. She found joy in God's creation and especially loved spending time outdoors. She was a gifted photographer and enjoyed quilting, crafting, cooking, and creating beautiful things with her hands.
Throughout her life, Betty had several careers, but her greatest calling was serving the Lord. She faithfully dedicated herself to youth ministry, women's ministry, and serving her church community. Her life was a testimony of faith, compassion, and services, and she inspired countless lives through her example and encouragement. Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Betty is lovingly survived by her two sons Al (Kriss), Brian (Jill), her cherished grandchildren David (Amy), Rob (Rose), Stephanie (Marc), Carley (Steve), Jake (Janie) and her beloved 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice knowing she is at peace and in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to God will continue to live on through all those whose lives she touched.
