Elinor Mae Couture

Couture, Elinor Mae, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born January 21, 1935. She grew up in Sauk Rapids, MN, married James in 1957, and started a family in the Twin Cities. A longtime White Bear Lake resident, she walked miles around the little pond chasing grandchildren, stayed active in the community, and provided childcare for neighborhood families. She was an avid reader, loved singing in the church choir, and will be remembered for her big smile and welcoming home.

Preceded in death by her husband, James; parents Rudolph and Ethel Nelson; sisters Gloria and Marilyn; brothers Rudy Jr and William. She is survived by her two children Jay (Cheryl) Couture and Suzanne Hauer; four grandchildren, Steph Gregerson (Justin), Tim Hauer (Jen), Charles Couture (Elise) and Andrew Couture; two great-grandchildren Henry and Franklin. She is also survived by five siblings, Don (Jan) Nelson, Joann (Curt) Hoganson, Carol Adleman, John (Nancy)Nelson, and David Nelson; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday September 3, 2026 at Johanna Shores Chapel, located at 3200 Lake Johanna Blvd, Arden Hills, MN. Memorials preferred to Johanna Shores or St. Andrew's Village libraries or donors choice.
