Janice Marie Chouanard

Janice Marie Chouanard, Age 86, of North Saint Paul, MN, was called home to her heavenly Savior on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Janice was born on October 30, 1939, to Constance and Cecelia Filipkowski. She met her future husband Jerry at the Catholic Youth Center and were married on October 11, 1958. They shared many wonderful years and precious memories together.

Janice devoted many years of her career to North Saint Paul Senior High School, where she was a deeply respected and well-loved employee. Her steady presence, warm spirit, and genuine care left a lasting mark on staff, students and the wider school community. She was also a gifted ceramic artist and creative soul, investing decades of her life in the beauty of art and the joy of sharing it with others. She taught ceramics and artistic expression to students, family and friends. Through the creation of her handmade pieces she produced works of lasting beauty and left a legacy of kindness and inspiration that will continue to bless those who knew her.

She is survived by her children Mark (Patricia) Chouanard, and Scott (Shari) Chouanard; her grandchildren, Andrew (Jordan) Chouanard, Natalia (Jeff) Jorgenson, and Hannah Chouanard, Tylor, Rachel, and Alex Chouanard, and Tyler Fleck; and her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Barrett, and Jewel Chouanard, Luca Jorgenson, and Hunter Bermel; Siblings Sandy Wynne and Richard Filipkowski (Roxanne); along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome Chouanard; her parents Constance and Cecelia Filipkowski; her brother William Filipkowski; and her son Robert John Chouanard.
