Loyd passed away at age 83 on August 11, 2025; Diane Krummel Hanson, his wife, passed away at age 79 on October 18, 2025. They passed away peacefully at their home in Maplewood, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bing Heminger and Lois S. Winner, his sister, Jeanette Winner and his daughter, Stacy Hanson-Griffin. 

He was survived by his wife Diane Kathleen Krummel Hanson until her passing on October 18, 2025 at her home in Maplewood, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Loyd Leroy Heminger Hanson, her parents Gerald D. and Margaret R. Jankawski Krummel, sisters, Geraldine Krummel Berwald and Jeanette "Snookie" Krummel and her daughter Stacy Hanson- Griffin. Diane Kathleen Krummel Hanson is survived by her brother, Bruce D. Krummel, brother-in-law Gene Berwald.

 Loyd and Diane are both survived by their three sons, Daniel Hanson, Gary Hanson and Scott Hanson, grandchildren, Olivia Hanson, Nicole Hanson, Amanda Waters, Kaitlin Hanson, Julia Hanson, Jacob Griffin, Justin Griffin, Amber Griffin, Cory Griffin and Great grandchildren, Ava Hanson, Tyler Hanson, Malikaih McCoy, Hailee Griffin, Lily Griffin, Octavia Griffin, Vivian Griffin, Derek Griffin, and Grace Griffin.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Loyd and Diane will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 with Visitation at 12:00PM and Service at 1:00PM at Sandberg Funeral Home.

Loyd and Diane shared 63 beautiful years together—a lifetime filled with love, devotion, and unwavering support for one another. Their family was at the heart of everything they did, and they created a home grounded in warmth, compassion, and togetherness.

They cherished traveling out West and made countless memories exploring the Rockies, Estes Park, the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Deadwood, and their beloved retreats in Superior and Danbury, Wisconsin.

Their cabin in Danbury was one of their greatest joys, where they spent many happy days boating, fishing, camping, and gathering with loved ones.

Loyd found joy in playing guitar, studying the Bible, and expressing his talent as a master painter. Diane loved antiquing, crafting, crocheting, doting on her dogs, and trying her luck at the slot machines.

Together, they embraced life with curiosity, creativity, and a shared appreciation for simple moments.

They loved their family deeply, and holidays and get-togethers were treasured times filled with laughter, stories, and memories that will live on. Loyd and Diane touched countless lives with their kindness and will be missed more than words can say.

They are so deeply loved-and will be forever remembered.
