Carol J. Rogers

May 9, 1946 — Jun 23, 2026

Carol Joyce (Drettwan) Rogers was born on May 9, 1946, and passed away peacefully on the evening of June 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born in Racine, Wisconsin, and raised in Burlington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Theodore and Catherine Drettwan, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Joan Wieners.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Randall Rogers; her daughters, Melissa (Josh) Hussin and Jennifer (John) Tilley; and her brother, Ted Drettwan Jr. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends, including lifelong friends Larry and Ann Powell.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Katherine, the daughter of John and Jennifer Tilley; and Adaylia (Kevin), Mariah (Caden), Naikeia, Amayah, Jaxton, and Aiyana, the children of Melissa and Joshua Hussin. She was also blessed with the opportunity to meet her first great-grandchildren, Phoenix, son of Adaylia and Kevin, and Robert, son of Mariah and Caden.

While attending college in Whitewater, Wisconsin, Carol met the love of her life, Randy. The two married young and began a partnership that would span nearly six decades. After beginning their teaching careers, they embarked on an adventure to Australia, where they taught school and welcomed their first daughter, Melissa. Drawn home by family, they returned to Wisconsin, where their second daughter, Jennifer, was born.

Never one to shy away from new experiences, Carol and her family moved to Southern California in the early 1980s, where she raised her daughters through their elementary and middle school years. Eventually, the family returned to Wisconsin, settling in the southeastern part of the state, including Waterford and, most recently, Jefferson.

A dedicated educator, Carol devoted more than 40 years to teaching, including many years working with children receiving special education services. She was a gifted crafter and found great joy in sharing her faith through choral music. A devoted Christian, Carol was active in the Lutheran church throughout her life and attended both St. Mark's Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Carol was known for the deep love she had for her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by the people she loved. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments or share in their lives.

Carol loved sharing stories from her many years as a teacher and took great pride in the lives she touched throughout her career. She was also especially proud of becoming a published author. Her book, Barry Says Goodbye, held a special place in her heart, and she often carried a copy with her to share with new friends and acquaintances, including those she met while living at Alden Estates.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Alden Estates for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Carol throughout her residency. They also wish to thank Rainbow Hospice for helping make Carol's final journey peaceful and comfortable, while providing comfort and support to her family during this difficult time.

Carol's faith, kindness, creativity, spunk, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
