Karl Hans Doeberlein

Karl Hans Doeberlein, age 83, of Jefferson passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1943, to Karl and Ella (nee Wunderlich) Doeberlein in Thierstein, Germany.

Karl married Rita Guertler on December 6, 1963 in Arzberg, Germany and immigrated to Jefferson in 1964. Together they owned and operated Jefferson Ceramic Tile Co. for 49 years, retiring in 2013.

Karl and Rita were honored as the 1979 Gemuetlichkeit King and Queen. Rita would pass away in 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

He is survived by his sons, Norbert (Heidi) Doeberlein of Lake Mills and Thomas (Pattie) Doeberlein of Jefferson; sister, Elli (Robert) Kramer of Jefferson; grandson, Seth (Emily) Doeberlein and numerous nieces and nephews. Karl is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rita.

Memorial Gathering to be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home, 900 W. Racine St. Jefferson, WI 53549, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Private family burial in Union Cemetery.
