Skyler Arndt-Sutherlin
October 5, 2011 — September 13, 2025
Skyler Arndt-Sutherlin, 13, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Skyler was born October 5, 2011, in Oconomowoc to Luther Arndt and Angelica Sutherlin. He adored being a big brother and whole-heartedly enjoyed playing with his sister whether it was on Roblox or letting her give him makeovers he was proud to wear to the park with her (his family would shake their heads and giggle at his confidence in doing so!) He attended Jefferson Middle School where he enjoyed football, wrestling, and hanging out with his friends. He had aspirations of one day becoming a police officer.
Skyler had an incredible sense of humor. He loved to laugh and to make others smile and laugh along with him. He was always being goofy with his friends and family- entertaining them with his wise cracks and jokes. His favorite musical artist was NF. He loved his pups, Makenna and Ace and riding his bike with friends, especially his best friend, Rae.
He also really loved nature. Spending time on the farm by his Uncle Harlow, where he was told by his Aunt Tia that walking in cow poo would make you taller…and he sure believed it. He adored scavenging the woods for deer antlers as well as asparagus and morel mushrooms. He was passionate about fishing on the canoe and learning how to deer hunt with his dad, Nick. He was very excited to shoot his first deer this year as in past experiences he was unsuccessful. In addition, making maple syrup and strawberry jam with his family were some of his most cherished past-times.
Skyler was an amazing friend, brother, son, grandson, cousin, and nephew. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to listen. His smile could light up a room and his laughter was infectious. The world is a better place because he was in it.
He was preceded in death by his Uncle TJ and his Grandma Bundy.
Skyler leaves behind his parents, Angelica Sutherlin and Nicholas Wetzel; his sisters Makayla and Evelyn; his brothers Nicholas Jr and Daniel; his grandmothers, Jeannette Rees and Sue Wetzel; his grandfathers, Larry Arndt, John Bundy, and Jim Wetzel; his father, Luther Arndt; and plenty of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation for Skyler will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon, at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home, 900 W. Racine Street, Jefferson, WI 53549. Burial will follow immediately at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown, WI.
Parking for the services will be available in the lots at West Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, and Fairview Bar & Grill. A shuttle bus service from these lots will be available for guests. Entrance to the funeral home for services will be through the outside bay doors. Those with mobility issues may utilize the main entrance of the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the first responders for their compassion and diligence; West Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, and Fairview Bar & Grill for graciously hosting parking; and to Dousman Transport Company for generously donating the shuttle services for guests.
