Harold Teel

Harold Teel, 100 years old, passed away on July 9, 2026, in Ontario, Oregon. Harold was born on January 15, 1926. The son of Walter and Cecelia Teel. Harold spent his early years in Parks, Nebraska. His family moved to Ontario, Oregon when Harold was a teenager. He graduated from Ontario High School and then attended The Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Harold proudly served in the Navy during WWII on board the USS Laurens APA 153 as a radioman. He was honorably discharged in 1946 in Bremerton, Washington. He married Doris Grace from the Oregon Slope in 1947. A union that lasted for 61 years, while raising two children. Harold and Doris owned Teel’s True Value in Payette for 50 years where they took pride in watching the community grow. Harold was a member of the Lions Club for many years.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Francie (Randy) McEwen; son, Ed (Mary) Teel; four granddaughters, Katie McEwen, Sara Garza, Emily McEwen and Amy Schluneger; seven great grandchildren, two nieces; Kathy (Jay) Urrea, and Mary Teel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; brother Clair; sister, Kathryn Scott and two nephews.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 9:00 am at Riverside Cemetery in Payette. The family request that donations be made to the American Legion of Idaho in Harold’s honor.
