Richard Fred Maschmann September 16, 1939 – May 28, 2026Richard Fred Maschmann, 86, of Payette, Idaho, passed away on May 28, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1939, in Payette, Idaho, and lived in Boise before settling back in Payette, where he called home for the last 20 years. Richard was a gifted engineer in technical electronics, a lover of anything with a motor, a constant tinkerer who maintained a project in every room of his house, and a farmer at heart — a combination that reflected his sharp, inquisitive mind and his deep roots. His brain never allowed him to be bored, and his body was never at rest. There was always something to be fixed, something to be improved upon – or, as he would have said it: something to be “Maschmann-ized”.Richard is survived by his sister Jolayne; his daughters, Megan and Kimberlee; his sons, Jeremiah, Rick Jr., and Brent; and his grandchildren, Alice, Henry, Meredith, and more. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Opal, and his sister Barbara.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rosedale Cemetery in Payette, Idaho.
